【Zen】禅
~To purify oneself ~ 自らを浄化する
The Zen School seeks to be awaken one’s true nature through the practice of zazen and intends to live rightly as a human being. In Japan there are at present three Zen denominations; Rinzai, Soto and Obaku. “Zen” is the Japanese pronunciation of the Sanskrit “dhyana” (zen-meditation or concentrated deliberation in tranquility). Zazen (“Za” means “sit,” “Zen” means zen-meditation) is sitting in zen-meditation the way practiced by Shakyamuni. The Rinzai School is also known as “The Buddha Mind School”, because we seek a tranquil mind and to awaken the Buddha Mind inherent in all human beings.
